Lorenzo Ochoa Salas (died December 7, 2009) was a Mexican archaeologist. ==Biography== Ochoa Salas was born in the city of Tuxpan, Veracruz state, Mexico. He obtained a master's degree in anthropology, with a speciality in archaeology from the National School of Anthropology and History. He completed his doctorate in archaeology at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.〔http://www.juntadegobierno.unam.mx/pdf/antropologicas/AUSCUL-IIA-Sembl.pdf〕 Ochoa Salas was the titular investigator B of definitive T.C. at the Institute of Anthropological Investigations, and a member of the National System of Investigators Level II, belonging to the PRIDE Level D. Since 1973, Ochoa Salas completed field investigations in both Mexico and Spain. He coordinated and directed six projects of archaeological investigation in the northwestern low territories of the Mayan area, in the Candlemas river basin, in the irrigation system of San Nicolas Atecoxco, Hidalgo, in the caves with wood boxes of Tenosique, Tabasco, and in the river basin and lagoon at Tamiahua, Veracruz. Ochoa Salas died of respiratory disease in Mexico City on December 7, 2009.〔 〕
